George Nelson

George Nelson (1908 – 1986) helped establish American Modernism. Most established as an industrial designer and writer, he helped bring designers like Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier to the North American scene while making his own contributions to the industry.

Nelson did not intend to become an architect. His career began by accident when he came across the architecture faculty at Yale when avoiding the rain. However, he quickly became known in modern design circles, even before graduating from the program.

Critical of peers who bent to the whims of their clients, Nelson maintained a belief that the ideas of modernism should always been maintained. His Coconut Chair and Platform Bench series are examples of his strong principles and devotion to the style.

This chair was easy to put

This chair was easy to put together, looks great and is surprising comfortable. the seat is hard so you are not going to get the plush feel of an upholstered chair, but all of guests who have used the chair are impressed with how it conforms to your body. I ordered it as a tester but I think I will go ahead and place a couple more! Great customer service, prompt response and great quality.
