Arne Jacobson always considered himself first and foremost an architect despite being mostly recognizable as a designer. In fact, he was notoriously resistant to being referred to as one. However, that does not stop him from being one of the most accomplished mid-century Functionalist. His streamlined chairs, such as the Drop Chair and Egg Chair, are instantly recognizable.
The Swan Chair, however, is arguably his most well known creation. Inspired by the trumpeter swan's organic silhouette, the classic is a whimsical piece that is almost indistinguishable from the licensed version. The chair is stunning and comfortable, featuring a curved fiberglass shell and durable satin finished base. The smooth cushions are well suited for home and commercial use, boasting a 360 degree swivel and floor protectant foot pads. The Rove Concepts Swan Chair Classic can be upholstered in premium Danish cashmere wool, Danish Bouclé fabric or Italian Aniline leather.
Though Arne Jacobsen is most well-known for his chairs, he hated the term 'designer.' He valued his contributions to architecture much more. Regardless, he remains one of the most prominent mid century modern visionaries. He was not limited to homes or furniture either. Jacobsen was famous for being involved in every part of his projects. In the case of the Bellevue Seat Bath, he even planned out the employee uniforms. His most recognizable creations are the iconic Egg Chair and the Swan Chair.
