Appearing on the market for the first time in 1950, the design of the DAW Fiberglass Armchair was motivated by the urgent post-war need of low-cost furniture. Manufactured using molded fiberglass, Charles and Ray used never-before-seen materials and techniques that shocked the world into a new appreciation of what furniture could be. The DAW Fiberglass Armchair was one of the first industrially manufactured reinforced plastic chairs. The organically shaped fiberglass shell was a completely new structural form in the industry, but more than 50 years later, these once-innovative features are now timeless and iconic. This realization of the design includes the high, flexible back, deep seat and waterfall edge of the original, making the chair incredibly comfortable. The DAW Fiberglass Armchair is a premium version of the DAW Molded Plastic Armchair and is an ideal piece of contemporary lounge or dining room furniture, that would be equally suited to a stylish office or chic cafe.

This premium Rove Concepts reproduction features:

  • Molded fiberglass shell
  • American walnut base with durable, high-grade stainless steel connecting rods
  • White gloss finish
  • Standard dining chair height
  • Armchair design
  • Base also includes plastic floor guides to protect your floor's surface
  • Light assembly required
