Sean Dix was born in 1967, after the great heyday of mid-century design innovation. A student of the most famous architects and designers before him, Dix has emerged as one of today’s most influential, active and conceptual designers associated with the classic movement before his time.
Dix was born in Kansas but has lived and travelled the world throughout. Returning to the US for a brief period of time, he obtained his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he was first subjected to conceptual design. Today, Dix’s work seeks to wholly define the concept as the meaning and process of his complex creations.
Where most iconic designers add details that help define their unique styles, Dix is noted for having an absolute lack of common elements in his work. From his Forte Dining Table to the Guilia Media Credenza, each design by Sean Dix undergoes a development of study and thought before sketching even begins, attributing to the extreme uniqueness of each Sean Dix design.
Sean Dix continues to design and consult through his international self-named design and architecture firm based in Milan and Hong Kong. He currently resides in Hong Kong.
